Springfield woman killed in a Missouri crash

A Springfield woman was killed in a crash in western Missouri this morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Ashley R. Martin, 21, was driving east on P Highway near Pleasant Hill about 6:30 a.m. when she crossed the center line, over-corrected and ran off the right side of the road, the patrol says.

According to the report, the car overturned, struck a fence and rolled into a pond, ejecting Martin.

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report. She was listed as not wearing a seat belt.
