Portland,OR : North Plains man dies after crashing into utility pole on September, Saturday 16th 2017
A North Plains man died after crashing into a utility pole northwest of the city Saturday, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Shortly before 4:50 p.m., sheriff's deputies responded to the single-car crash at Northwest Dairy Creek Road and Oliver Hill Road. Deputies determined 58-year-old Richard Owens was driving a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta south when he lost control and hit the utility pole, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
Speed appears to have been a factor, the sheriff's office said. The county's Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team is helping with the investigation.
