An Arbela teen was hospitalized after a single-car crash Tuesday afternoon.

Saydrianne G. Spurgeon, 16, was traveling on U.S. 136 seven miles east of Memphis in a 2004 Toyota Prius when the car left the road, struck an embankment and overturned, a Missouri State Highway Patrol report said.

The patrol responded to the scene at 4:50 p.m. Spurgeon was taken by Air Evac to Northeast Regional Hospital in Kirksville, Mo. The teen was wearing a seat belt.

Assisting were the Scotland County Sheriff's Department, Scotland County Fire and Rescue, and Gorin Fire and Rescue.
