Joplin, MO : Two injured in early-morning crashes on Wednesday, 21st September 2016
An Ash Grove woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday on state Highway 266, less than a mile east of Halltown in Lawrence County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Glenda L. Bell, 53, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries, the patrol said.
The patrol said Bell's eastbound vehicle hit another vehicle, also heading east, driven by Mark R. Bowerman, 36, of Republic.
• A Joplin woman was injured in a three-vehicle accident at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday on Zora Road, two miles west of Joplin in Jasper County, the highway patrol reported.
Pearl A. Stone, 50, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin with minor injuries, the patrol said.
The patrol said a westbound vehicle driven by Deandre J. Coleman, 21, of Joplin, rear-ended another vehicle driven by Eric Garza, 34, also of Joplin. The Garza vehicle then struck a third westbound vehicle driven by Rodney C. De Leon, 34, of Joplin.
None of the drivers was injured; Stone was a passenger in Garza's vehicle, the patrol said.
• Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 12:39 p.m. Tuesday on Bear Hollow Road, one mile east of Jane in McDonald County, according to the highway patrol.
Natalie A. Birchfield, 30, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and her passenger, Donald A. Lewis, 23, of Pineville, were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas, with minor to moderate injuries, the patrol said.
The patrol said Birchfield's westbound vehicle ran off the road and hit a ditch.
