Tampa, FL: One Person Injured in The crash between a Publix semi truck and a red pickup truck on I-4 on Thursday Morning , 23rd October,2014
Westbound Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County has been reopened after a crash involving a semi truck near the Thonotosassa exit. As of 8:30 a.m. traffic was moving slowly through the area. U.S. 92 is a suggested alternate route.
The crash between a Publix semi truck and a red pickup truck happened shortly after 7 a.m. at mile marker 19. The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver of a red pickup truck lost control and the truck fell on its side and under the Publix vehicle. The pickup was dragged about 800 feet by the semi.
The male driver of the pickup was transported to the hospital via medical helicopter in critical condition. The female driver of the Publix semi was not injured in the crash.
Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue crews responded to the crash.
