Forestville, MD : Forestville man dies in pedestrian collision on Friday night, July 4, 2014

Prince George's County Police are investigating a pedestrian collision that killed a 63-year-old man from Forestville on Friday night.

Police say patrol officers arrived at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Forestville Road at approximately 9:15 on Friday night where they found James Hughes, 63, of Forestville, lying in the roadway. Hughes sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

An initial investigation determined Hughes was struck by a car traveling on Pennsylvania Avenue. The driver remained on the scene and police believe Hughes was sitting in the street before he was run over.
