Dallas, TX : 1 dead, 1 critically injured in wrong-way crash on I-30 in Grand Prairie early Sunday, January 29, 2017

A Fort Worth man died and a woman was critically injured early Sunday in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 30 in Grand Prairie.

Police said the crash occurred around 5 a.m. near the Duncan Perry Road overpass. The woman, 25-year-old Vanessa Nayelly Montes of Dallas, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe east in the westbound lanes when she struck a 2007 Mitsubishi Galant driven by Hector Castro Banuelos, 36, of Fort Worth.

Banuelos was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters got Montes out of her SUV and she was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she is in critical condition.
