Statesville, NC : Four injured in northern Iredell rollover wreck on Friday, September 15th 2017
Statesville, North Carolina
The N.C. Highway Patrol said four people were taken to Davis Regional Medical Center on Friday morning after two cars collided in northern Iredell County.
The wreck happened just before 10 a.m. at the intersection of Old Mocksville Highway and Dunlap Gate Road.
Trooper Jolly said a black Honda CR-V attempted a left turn onto Dunlap Gate Road, but pulled in front of a white Kia passenger car headed west toward Statesville. The Kia hit the Honda and the Honda rolled onto the side of the road.
Three people in the Kia were injured, as well as the driver of the Honda, Jolly said. No other passengers were involved in the wreck.
Jolly was not releasing names of those involved. Injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Traffic on Old Mocksville Highway was down to one lane at the intersection for about an hour.
A man at the scene, Dennis Holland, said his wife, adult daughter and mother-in-law were in the Kia. He arrived shortly after the wreck, he said.
"Why couldn't you see a white car?" Holland said, explaining the car was bought brand new two days ago. "Why did this have to happen? People need to slow down, that's my reaction. People are in too big of a hurry."
Jolly said charges are pending on the driver of the Honda.
Ebeneezer Volunteer Fire Department and Iredell EMS responded to the scene.
