East closed due to accident Near Lafayette Louisiana

A crash on I-10 East involving two 18-wheelers and several other vehicles has the highway blocked at this hour.
Louisiana State Police say the crash happened just west of Whiskey Bay near mile marker 125. Troopers say some motorists are trapped inside the vehicles involved in the crash. The extent of the extent the injuries to those involved is unknown.

Troopers say they anticipate the road to be closed for at least the next three to four hours. Lafayette police have been deployed to divert eastbound traffic off I-10 and onto I-49 towards US 190.
