Monett, MO : Man injured in Hwy. Z wreck east of Monett on Monday, March 20, 2017

A Merriam Woods man was injured Monday in a wreck at 5:40 p.m. on Highway Z, seven miles east of Monett.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Mario Zaccone, 37, of Merriam Woods, was driving a 2002 Ford Windstar eastbound when his vehicle began skidding over a hill crest, traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned.

Zaccone suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

He was wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.
