Two people died in separate vehicle crashes in Kosciusko and Whitley counties Sunday.
About 1 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a call that a car that had rolled over on County Road 650 North near 700 West in Kosciusko County, the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department said.
Investigators believe Cameron A. Scarberry, 16, of Etna Green, overcorrected while driving a GMC Jimmy, causing it to go across the road and roll into a field.
Scarberry died at the scene, the Kosciusko County coroner said. Scarberry's passenger, Jared Scarberry, 13, of Etna Green, received multiple injuries and was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in stable condition.
The crash is under investigation.
About 10 p.m., a Cromwell woman died in a motorcycle crash on U.S. 30 between County Roads 500 E. and 600 E. in Whitley County, Indiana State Police said.
Investigators believe Micheal S. Miller, 40, of Cromwell, was riding the motorcycle west on U.S. 30 in the right lane and may have tried to change lanes, which were uneven because of road work, when the motorcycle crashed.
The passenger, Mari L. Miller, 43, of Cromwell, was thrown onto the road and hit by a passing car, a statement said. She died at the scene. Micheal Miller was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center. His condition was unclear Monday.
The westbound lanes of U.S. 30 were closed for several hours so investigators could reconstruct the crash.
