Las Vegas, NV : Man accused of DUI in crash with police motorcycle officer on September 16 2016

A man who rear-ended a motorcycle officer this morning was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, according to Metro Police.

The officer was thrown from the motorcycle when a 2003 Hyundai Accent plowed into the bike about 4:15 a.m. on Tropicana Avenue, near Durango Drive, police said. The officer suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at University Medical Center, police said.

David Williams, 19, of Las Vegas, was booked on one count of DUI at the Clark County Detention Center, police said.

Williams remained at the scene and was arrested, police said. He has a court hearing Saturday morning; no bail has been set, jail records show.
