ST. LOUIS, MO : 3-year-old killed in early morning crash on I-55 in Jefferson County on Sunday, 30th June 2024

A 3-year-old boy from Tennessee died following an early Sunday morning single-vehicle crash in Jefferson County.

The crash happened at 4:40 a.m. on northbound Interstate 55 at mile marker 168, just south of Selma. The 3-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A 1-year-old boy was seriously injured and airlifted to a hospital. A 23-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were also seriously injured and were taken by ambulance to a hospital.

All four occupants were from Memphis, Tennessee.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the car the four people were in hit an object or vehicle in the road before driving off the highway and hitting a tree.
