Oneonta, NY : Two people were injured in two separate accidents on Tuesday, June 13, 2017

Two people were injured in two separate accidents on Tuesday, according to a media release from Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies. None of the injuries was life-threatening, deputies said.

A Walton resident, 29-year-old MistyBlue Crisell, sustained back and head injuries and had to be airlifted to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City following an accident in which she was a passenger, deputies said. She was in stable condition on Wednesday, deputies said. The accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on state Route 206 in the town of Tompkins.

An investigation into the one-car accident revealed that the driver, 30-year-old Joshua E. Crisell, also of Walton, lost control of his vehicle when he reached for an item in the car, causing the vehicle to go off the roadway, strike a number of small trees and flip over, deputies said.

Joshua Crisell was issued traffic summonses for failure to keep hands on the steering wheel, moving from lane unsafely and operating a motor vehicle out of license class, deputies said.

He is scheduled to appear in Tompkins Town Court to answer charges at a later date, deputies said.

Members of the Trout Creek Fire Department and Emergency Squad assisted at the scene, deputies said.

In a separate incident, deputies and members of the Delhi Fire Department and Emergency Squad responded at approximately 8:15 p.m. to an off-road, all-terrain vehicle accident on Elk Creek Road in Delhi involving local farmer, Peter D. Clark, 75.

He was treated and released from O’Connor Hospital in Delhi after he was located in the woods, unable to free his legs from beneath the ATV, deputies said.

Family contacted 911 for assistance, after members went looking for Clark when he didn’t return home after a reasonable time.

An investigation determined that Clark, who lives on Elk Creek Road, left his farm shortly after 6 p.m. to search for lost livestock in a wooded area, deputies said. His four-wheeled ATV rolled over while he was negotiating a turn at a low speed, trapping his legs, deputies said. He was extricated by Delhi Fire and EMS personnel before being transported to O’Connor, deputies said.
