Columbia, SC :Multi-vehicle accident closes westbound I-70 on Wednesday, July 1st 2015

A multi-vehicle accident has closed westbound I-70 at the Route Z exit, near mile marker 133.The Boone County Fire Department reports two people were injured, one with serious injuries, the other with moderate injuries.Boone County Fire posted several images on Twitter, saying multiple tractor trailers were involved.According to Columbia Fire, both lanes are shut down as crews are extricating a person from a vehicle.Boone County Fire, Columbia Fire and ambulances from both Boone and University Hospital are on the scene.Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.KRCG 13 has a crew headed to the scene, and will update this story as more information is made available.
