SULLIVAN, ME : Deputies identify woman killed in early morning ATV crash on Tuesday, 21st May 2019

A Sullivan woman was killed and a man injured after the ATV they were in crashed early Tuesday morning in Sullivan, deputies said.

According to the Hancock County Sheriff's Department, Whitney Doughty, 25, was driving the side-by-side vehicle. She was on Punkinville Road in Sullivan headed toward Route 1 when the ATV drifted across the road and hit a tree.The crash was reported just before 2 a.m.

A 25-year old passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both were wearing safety belts, according to deputies.

The crash remains under investigation.
