Car crash killed one person in Carney's point

Police are investigating an accident that claimed at least one life in Carney's Point, New Jersey Friday night.

Police say two vehicles collided on I-295 southbound near mile marker three.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident backed up traffic as the roadway was reduced from two lanes to one.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
