BUCK RUN, PA : Pottsville man killed in crash on Route 901, I-81 on February, Sunday 25th 2018
A 27-year-old Pottsville man died Sunday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash on Route 901 in Foster Township, police said.
State police at Schuylkill Haven identified the man as Adam Gregory Ould.
Police said the crash occurred at 1:17 p.m., about 150 feet from Interstate 81, as Ould was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee northbound on Route 901 and, for an unknown reason, left the lane of travel, crossed the southbound lane and struck a guiderail on the southbound shoulder. The vehicle traveled down an embankment and struck a guiderail and concrete barrier on the eastbound shoulder of I-81. The vehicle came to rest on its roof in the right lane of I-81 facing north, police said. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Police said the interstate was closed for about three hours.
Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David J. Moylan III said Deputy Coroner David Truskowsky pronounced Ould dead at the scene. Moylan said a virtual autopsy will be conducted at 6:15 p.m. today at the Simon Kramer Cancer Institute, New Philadelphia, “to further define the exact cause of death and we will be looking for internal injuries.”
Routine toxicology tests will also be conducted.
