Columbia, SC : 24-year-old man died in fatal car crash on Garners Ferry Road early Sunday morning, February 28, 2016

The Richland County Coroner's Office has identified a 24-year-old man as the victim in an early Sunday morning fatal accident on Garners Ferry Road.

Coroner Gary Watts identified the victim as Charles Clinton Cobb, a Columbia resident.

Cobb, according to Watts, was not wearing a seatbelt when the car he was riding in left the roadway and overturned. Watts said Cobb was ejected from the car and died at the scene of "multiple trauma" associated with the crash.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and the driver of the car was transported to Palmetto Health Richland in serious condition.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
