Brewer, ME : State police cruiser, car involved in Brewer crash on Wednesday afternoon, May 11, 2016

A Maine State Police cruiser and a car were involved in a crash at the intersection of North Main Street and Parkway North Wednesday afternoon.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said the trooper was responding to a domestic violence call at the time of the accident, which happened shortly before 1 p.m.

McCausland said the trooper and the driver of the other car, an elderly man, were both injured and taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. The cruiser struck and broke a utility pole.

The names of those involved were not available. McCausland said more details were expected to be released later Wednesday afternoon.
