Eufaula Lake, OK : Person killed in weather-related crash in Pittsburg County on Wednesday, 2nd January 2019

A person was killed in a two-vehicle collision near Lake Eufaula in Pittsburg County on Wednesday. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol had not identified the driver who was killed as of midnight Wednesday night, according to a press release.Troopers reported that about 5:45 p.m., an unknown model pickup was traveling east on Oklahoma 9A northeast of Canadian. The vehicle reportedly was going too fast for the icy conditions, entered a broad slide and was hit by a westbound Freightliner before catching fire.

The truck driver was treated at a McAlester hospital and released, the OHP reported.
