Anchorage, AK : Wasilla woman dies of injuries suffered in all-terrain vehicle crash on June 29th 2014.

A Wasilla woman has died of injuries suffered in a crash of an all-terrain vehicle.23-year-old Shelby Caven was injured Friday on the Kenai Peninsula and died a day later at Providence Hospital in Anchorage.

Alaska State Troopers say they took a call on the crash at Whiskey Gulch beach at 6:21 p.m. Friday.

Witnesses say Caven was returning to the beach and tried to cross the mouth of Stariski Creek. The ATV struck the creek bottom and flipped forward.

Craven was able to stand but collapsed. A passenger also was injured.

Other ATV riders took Craven to the Sterling Highway and emergency responders rushed her to South Peninsula Hospital in Homer.She was later flown to Providence and pronounced dead at 3:26 a.m. Saturday.
