BOWLING GREEN, KY : 1 dead after crash on I-65 in Kentucky on Friday, 13th September 2024

Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Interstate 65 in Warren County Friday night.

KSP troopers are investigating the crash that occurred at about 7 p.m. on I-65 North at Mile Marker 22.

Police said a 1997 Ford f-150, driven by Manuel Valenzuela Garcia, 37, of Bowling Green, was traveling on Cumberland Trace Road when the vehicle left the road. The truck ran through a fence and entered I-65 North colliding with a 2017 Freightliner driven by Abdiaziz Shirdon, 35, of Columbus, Ohio.

Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and Shirdon was taken to the Bowling Green Medical Center for treatment.

“The investigation is being led by Detective Michael Waggener,” KSP said.
