Yakima, WA : Five injured in I-82 rollover crash near Zillah on Tuesday afternoon, July 12, 2016
State troopers say all five occupants were injured when a Dodge Durango rolled on Interstate 82 near Zillah on Tuesday afternoon.
Driver Jameion D. McShane, 23, and passenger Kristen Forbes, 24, both of Edmonds, were taken to Toppenish Community Hospital.
Three other passengers also from Edmonds — ages 1, 4, and 7 — also were taken to the Toppenish hospital.
A nursing supervisor said all five were treated and released.
McShane was eastbound about 1 p.m. when the Durango left the road to the right, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol.
He overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll and land on its wheels on the shoulder of a westbound access ramp, the news release said.
Troopers blamed the crash on inattention and said McShane was expected to receive a ticket for negligent driving.
Intoxicants were not suspected of contributing to the crash, and all occupants were properly using seat belts.
