LIMERICK, PA : Pickup truck crashes into Limerick hardware store on Thursday, October 5, 2017
A hardware store has been left with significant damage after a truck plowed into the building, police said.
Police said Friday that around 8:44 a.m. Thursday a pickup truck heading westbound on Ridge Pike left the road and crashed into the side of Limerick Hardware, 712 W. Ridge Pike. Police identified the driver as 36-year-old Charles Roop of Harleysville.
Officers said Thursday that although a full report on the accident is not yet available, police believe Roop suffered from a medical issue that caused him to lose control and leave the road.
Other than the driver’s medical issues, no injuries were reported in the incident.
Crews cleared the store contents and shelving from around the truck and then removed the damaged wall panel to open up space to remove the truck, according to a post from Limerick Fire Company.
The store is currently open for business.
