Jacksonville, FL : 81-year-old woman died after crash on St. Augustine Road on Thursday night, April 6, 2017

An 81-year-old woman died after a crash Thursday night in the San Jose neighborhood, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

The crash was reported about 8:30 p.m. on St. Augustine Road at Via De La Reina Street.

According to JSO, a red car pulled out in front of a black Acura heading west on St. Augustine Road and the two vehicles collided.

A doctor who witnessed the crash pulled the 81-year-old woman driving the red car out of the vehicle and performed CPR, police said.

The woman, who has not yet been identified, was then taken to a hospital, where she later died, police said.

The driver of the Acura was not injured.

Traffic homicide detectives were called to investigate.

Around the same time Thursday evening, police said, four children were injured in a separate crash less than five miles away.

The two crashes were not related, police said.
