Bristol, VA : VSP investigating fatal motorcycle crash on Sunday September 4 2016

Shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday morning a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle took place in Gate City.
The crash occurred on West Jackson Street where a 2000 Yamaha motorcycle struck an embankment and then a highway sign before overturning.
The rider, Charles O. Darnell Jr., 51, who police say was wearing a helmet died at the scene.
Virginia State Police Senior Trooper J.L. Flanary is investigating the event. The cause is still unknown.
