A man was struck by a car on an Iredell County highway Thursday morning, Highway Patrol officials said.
The hit and run happened on Highway 70, Hickory Highway, just west of Old Mountain Road.
The man was found just before 6 a.m. and taken to Iredell Memorial. He was then airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Troopers said the road is still open, but some lanes are closed.
