Camarillo, CA : Wrong-way driver arrested after head-on crash on Highway 101 in Camarillo on early Thursday, March 3, 2016

A 26-year-old man was arrested early Thursday after a crash occurred while he apparently was driving the wrong way along Highway 101 in Camarillo, authorities said.

The head-on crash was reported about 12:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the highway near Camarillo Springs Road.

A vehicle driven by John Bramsfort, of Camarillo, crashed into a northbound vehicle driven by a 23-year-old woman, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both vehicles sustained major damage and blocked the roadway. The woman was able to get out of her vehicle and suffered minor injuries, authorities said.

Bramsfort suffered a fractured femur and was taken to a hospital. He later was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, the patrol reported.
