Monticello, AR : A minor motorcyclist killed in a head on crash at Old Highway 65 On Friday, July 8th, 2016
A head-on crash involving a motorcycle killed a minor Friday afternoon in southeast Arkansas, police said.
The male minor, whose name was not released, was riding his Honda motorcycle south on Old Highway 65 in Drew County at 4:30 p.m., according to Arkansas State Police. A Jeep Wrangler was driving north on the highway,
police said, when it swerved to avoid a pair of ATVs in the road. Per the crash report, the minor couldn't control his motorcycle, and he hit the Jeep head-on.
The victim was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police listed the conditions as clear and dry at the time of the wreck. It was the 274th death on Arkansas roads this year, according to
preliminary records.
