Landsdowne, MD : Driver killed in I-295 crash near Landsdowne on I-295 Thursday afternoon on May 29, 2014

One person was killed when they lost control of their truck on Interstate 295 Thursday afternoon and crashed off the side of the highway, Maryland State Police troopers said.

State Police did not have information on the victim's identity Friday morning. Around 4 p.m. a blue Chevrolet Silverado slid off the highway in the southbound lanes just past Waterview Avenue near Landsdowne, struck a tree and caught fire. The driver was killed and no one else was injured in the single-vehicle crash, State Police said.
