10-car crash stops traffic on I-5 in Lakewood Washington
Traffic nearly stopped on Interstate 5 South Wednesday due to a pileup involving at least 10 cars, said the Washington Department of Transportation.
The crash blocked the left three lanes of I-5 southbound just south of Bridgeport Way. It happened around 4:35 p.m., just when the evening commute was about to pick up.
Seven people involved in the crash required medical attention, said WSDOT officials.
Glare from the rain is what is believed to have caused the crash. At one point the backup was estimated to be about two miles long.
