GRIMES COUNTY, TX : Central Texas man dies in collision with 18-wheeler near FM 24 at State Highway 90 north of Anderson on Thursday, 18th July 2019

Daryl Brooks, 44, of Mexia, who was critically injured when his vehicle slammed into the rear of an 18-wheeler Thursday afternoon in Grimes County, has died at a Bryan hospital.

Brooks was flown to the hospital after the crash at around 4 p.m. near FM 24 at State Highway 90 north of Anderson.

Brooks’ vehicle hit the rear of the 18-wheeler as the rig’s driver was making a left turn into a private driveway, KBTX in Bryan reported.

The accident is under investigation, the Department of Public Safety said.
