Clayton , NC : 14-year-old boy hospitalized for minor injuries after crashing his mom's car into a utility pole on Saturday morning ,january 17th 2015

A Johnston County teenager has been hospitalized for minor injuries after crashing his mom's car into a utility pole.

WTVD-TV reports (http://abc11.tv/1ufwDfA ) that the crash happened at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Josephine Road.

The utility pole was knocked over, and troopers say that the 14-year-old boy driving the car was taken to a Clayton hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities say alcohol wasn't a factor in the crash, but the State Highway Patrol is planning to seek charges because of the driver's age.

Nearby roads have been blocked off while Duke Energy replaces the pole.
