Springfield, IL : Authorities ID motorcycle driver who died after crash at Dirksen and Stevenson on Wednesday, 18th July 2018

Authorities have identified the motorcycle driver who died after a crash at Dirksen Parkway and Stevenson Drive on Wednesday afternoon.

Roger Boyd, 71, of Girard was pronounced dead at HSHS St. John’s Hospital at 1:23 p.m., about 40 minutes after the crash, the Sangamon County coroner’s office said.

Police said the car was traveling east on Stevenson and was turning left onto Dirksen when it struck the westbound motorcycle. Boyd was ejected from the motorcycle.

The investigation into the crash continues.
