ANDERSON, SC : 1 killed, 3 hurt in Anderson Co. crash on Monday, November 14th 2016
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said charges are pending after a teen driver crashed into another vehicle, killing a man and injuring two other people in Anderson County Monday evening.
Troopers said the 15-year-old was driving a Mercedes on Moorehead Drive and crashed into the front right side of a Nissan that was traveling on Blackman Drive about three miles south of Pendleton.
The crash happened around 7 p.m.
The driver of the Nissan, a 45-year-old Anderson woman, and a juvenile passenger were hurt and taken to the hospital. The front passenger, a 35-year-old Anderson man, died at the hospital.
Anderson County Deputy Coroner Don McCown identified the victim as Jason Dobbins. Dobbins wasn't wearing a seat belt and suffered head trauma after striking his head on the inside of the vehicle. The Nissan rolled over after it was struck by the Mercedes, McCown said.
The teen driver was also hurt and taken to the hospital, troopers said. There was no mention of any passengers in the Mercedes,
Troopers said charges are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
