POLK COUNTY, FL : Daytona Beach victim killed in Polk County crash on westbound Interstate 4 at County Road 557 on Friday, 7th September 2018

A Daytona Beach woman, killed Oct. 29 in a single-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 4 at County Road 557 has been identified.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, passenger Jerry Lynn Lecompte, 49, died at the scene after a 2008 Dodge Charger, driven by Danny Ray O’Connell, 63, of Ocala, left the interstate, traveled up the embankment of the entrance ramp to CR 557, collided with the overpass and came to a final rest along the grass shoulder.
Lecompte was wearing a seat belt, as was O’Connell. Another passenger, Daniel Carlucci, 67, of Holly Hill, was not wearing a seat belt. O’Connell and Carlucci sustained serious injuries and were transported to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.
