TURIN, NY : 1-car crash investigated in Turin on Friday, 17th August 2018
A one-car-crash early Friday morning was almost a car-deer collision.
But, involved a telephone pole instead, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said 20-year-old Niyon R. Sloan from Fort Drum, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet sedan “when he swerved to miss hitting a deer in the roadway and struck a telephone pole” on Route 26 in Turin.
Three passengers in the vehicle were transported to area hospitals: Issiah T. Stewart and Arik Vulgamott were sent to Lewis County General Hospital in Lowville with minor injuries; Jordy Munoz was transported to the St. Elizabeth campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica with a head injury, according to police.
Sloan (the driver) and a fourth passenger, Xavier T. Stewart were uninjured and signed off on any further medical treatment, police said.
