Paducah,KY : Paducah man killed in collision with semi on October, Saturday 14th 2017

A Paducah man was killed in a two-vehicle crash with a semitrailer early Saturday morning on Hinkleville Road.


Lawrence Dickey, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, which happened at 5:32 a.m. in front of Michael's crafts store, Paducah Police spokeswoman Robin Newberry said.


Quincy Gary, 69, of Erlington, told police he was driving a semitrailer west on Hinkleville when a car ran a red light in front of the crafts store, pulling into Gary's path. The truck hit the car broadside and Dickey, the driver, was killed, Newberry said.

Westbound traffic was shut down for about two hours. The police department's collision reconstruction team is investigating.
