Whitley County, KY: Overturned semi slows traffic on I-75 in Whitley County on Tuesday, July 21st 2015

Traffic is slow moving on Interstate 75 in Whitley County after an accident involving a tractor trailer.Just after midnight on Tuesday, Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement responded to an accident with injuries located on I-75 near the 20 mile marker.Investigators determined that 74-year old Melvin E. Meadows of Dalton, Georgia was operating a 2011 International tractor trailer when he lost control, leaving the roadway and overturning in the median.Meadows was transported to Baptist Health in Corbin and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.Clean-up crews were on the scene for several hours, picking up debris and removing rolls of carpet from the truck. They cleared the scene around 10 Tuesday morning.Drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors in the crash.State Police say Meadows was not wearing his seat belt at the time crash.
