Surry, ME : Man arrested on OUI charge after Surry crash on Tuesday night, Nov 3, 2015

A man was arrested and Route 172 in Surry closed temporarily Tuesday night after a car struck a utility pole, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The crash occurred at 10:10 p.m. near the Ellsworth/Surry town line.

Deputy Luke Gross arrested motorist Joshua Eldridge, 42, of Surry on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

Gross said the Ellsworth Police Department, the Maine State Police and the Surry Fire Department assisted at the scene.
