WALLINGFORD, CT : A Meriden woman was charged on Wednesday, August 23, 2017

A Meriden woman was charged with driving under the influence Wednesday night after she reportedly struck two stopped vehicles.

Police arrested Charlene Wright, 46, who was driving a Buick sedan that reportedly struck a red Toyota truck stopped at a light at North Colony Road (Route 5) and Ives Road. The impact pushed the truck across the road, and it struck another stopped car, a black Toyota sedan.

Emergency crews were dispatched about 8:15 p.m. Heavy damage to the front of the Buick was observed.
