Rapid City, SD : Driver arrested after a hit-and-run traffic accident on Friday September 25 2015
A woman from Manderson was arrested after a hit-and-run traffic accident damaged a Rapid City Police Department vehicle last week.According to a release from the department, at about 7:30 a.m. Friday, a department community-service officer was doing crossing-guard duty at North Maple Avenue and Surfwood Drive when his vehicle was rear-ended by a car.
The driver of that car left the scene, the release said, but a passenger in the car identified her.
Police later found Katy Whirlwindhorse, 27, at 1721 N. Maple Ave.
Whirlwindhorse was arrested on two prior warrants and suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident and having no proof of insurance.
