BENTON COUNTY, IA : 26-year-old woman killed in Benton County crash on Saturday, 30th November, 2019

A Des Moines woman was killed in an accident involving a semi in Benton County.

Emergency crews were called to U.S. Highway 30 and 21 Avenue around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Iowa State Patrol said a semi was traveling west on U.S. 30, approaching an intersection.

Deputies say a vehicle driven by Baylee Hess, 26, of Des Moines, was traveling northbound on 21 Avenue and didn’t stop at the intersection.

Hess’s vehicle went under the semi’s trailer.

The accident is under investigation.
