Lubbock, TX : Woman jumps from vehicle on I-27, causes 3-vehicle crash on Interstate 27 Wednesday afternoon, July 13, 2016

A 34-year-old female was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after reportedly jumping from a moving vehicle on Interstate 27, according to police.

Police say a DPS Trooper came across the woman laying in the 2900 block of North Interstate 27 Wednesday afternoon. Lubbock Police Department Patrol Units and the Accident Investigation Unit were called to the scene.

Another accident involving a passenger car, an 18-wheeler and a U-Haul occurred almost immediately at the same location. There were minor injuries reported.

An investigation is underway.
