Molalla, OR : Two people dead and three people injured when vehicle crashes into Molalla River on Saturday night August 2nd 2014
The two people who died and the three others who were injured when a vehicle crashed down an embankment and into the Molalla River on Saturday night have been identified by the sheriff's office.
It happened approximately seven miles south of Molalla, along South Molalla Forest Road, just before 8 p.m., according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, Alexandra Alexandrova Samoilov, 19, of Canby, Ore. and one of the four passengers, Marina Toran, 19, of Salem, Ore. were found dead when deputies arrived, Deputy Ben Frazier said in a news release.
Two of the three injured passengers were taken to hospitals by LifeFlight helicopter. Medics took the other passenger to a hospital in an ambulance. They were identified as Feudosii T. Semerikov 21, of Gervais, Ore., Dennis Frolov, 22, and Antip, Alagoz, 20, of Alberta, Canada.
The conditions of the injured passengers are unclear.
Jessamyn Wedding was helping the injured passengers when deputies arrived.
"They were just all in shock," she said. "The look on the guy's face that waved me down was sheer panic.
"I said, 'I'm taking you to the hospital, get in my car.' I wasn't asking, I was telling this guy, 'get in my car.'"
Two deputies climbed down the 100-foot embankment to help the passengers until rescue crews arrived and used special equipment to pull them to safety.
The sheriff’s office and county medical examiner’s office are investigating the crash.
It’s unclear what caused the vehicle to go off the road.
