KANSAS CITY, MO : Wrong-way driver causes three-car collision hits one car head-on on Saturday, 6th January 2024

KCPD responded to a three-car crash late Saturday night at the intersection of Independence Avenue at Cambridge Avenue.

Just after 10 p.m. on Saturday, a silver Chevy Impala was speeding east in the westbound lanes of Independence Avenue.

A woman driving a tan Chrysler 300 was driving west in the second lane of traffic and started to switch into the first lane when she saw the Chevy Impala’s headlights coming towards her. She tried to avoid the collision and swerved back into the second lane but was still hit in the rear of her vehicle.

Despite the first collision, the Chevy Impala continued driving the wrong way down Independence Avenue, hitting a black Chevy Colorado pickup head-on.
