Minatare, NE : Woman dies in 3-vehicle construction zone crash on U.S. Highway 26 on Tuesday, October 18, 2016
The Nebraska State Patrol says a woman has died in a three-vehicle crash in a Nebraska Panhandle construction zone.
The accident occurred around 5 p.m. Tuesday about a mile and a half east of Minatare on U.S. Highway 26. State Patrol Capt. Jamey Balthazor says the woman was waiting for a pilot car when a pickup struck the rear of her car. The impact knocked her car into a vehicle ahead of hers.
The pickup driver was flown to Scottsbluff for treatment. The driver of the vehicle struck by the woman’s car was not injured.
The patrol identified the dead woman as 68-year-old Barbara Fritzler, of Alliance. The pickup driver was identified as 29-year-old Trevor Teichroeb, of Mitchell. The uninjured driver was identified as 52-year-old Pamela Taylor, of Bridgeport.
