Guida was crossing from the east side of the road north of Driggs Drive and walked in front of a dark-colored Nissan, according to FHP.
The driver of the Nissan struck the unidentified man and left the area, troopers said.
Guida died at the scene.
Family friend, Michelle Hovelman, said Guida he was heading to ABC Liquor to get a pack of cigarettes.
"This was some place where, you know, he would go and get cigarettes fairly often. So, he knew the risks. So, I just don't understand how it could happen," said Hovelman.
Hovelman said he often walked across Semoran Boulevard in an area without many street lights or a crosswalk.
"I don't understand how someone can hit a human being and keep going. That to me if unfathomable," said Hovelman.
Troopers are looking for a Nissan that they said will have front-end damage around the left headlight.
Hovelman said she had a message for the driver.
"I think you should turn yourself in. What you did was selfish, just leaving a man on the side of the road not knowing if he was alive or dead. You just need to come forward. That's all I can say," said Hovelman.
