Salem, OR : One woman is dead after a her car crash on May, Friday, 19th 2017
One woman is dead after a her car crashed off the side of U.S. 101 near Gearhart on the northern Oregon coast late Friday night.
The woman, Wendi Robinson, 42, from Warrenton, was spotted earlier speeding up the highway near Seaside, according to Oregon State Police. According to a witness, she lost control of her car and drove off the western side of the road.
The car flipped and came to a rest, submerged in nearly three feet of water near milepost 17 north of Gearhart, police said. First responders pulled Robinson from the car and attempted CPR, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed one lane of U.S. 101 for more than three hours after the crash. The highway has since reopened.
